Finished watching the Los Suns - Spurs game. Great game. Suns had trouble scoring at the start but managed to get it together in the fourth quarter and ended up winning by ten. The Argentinean Nazi was making some horrendous passes, but Grandpa Duncan played as well as can be expected; he even made a three point shot! Can't wait for LA-Phoenix in the next round.
I also watched the Laker - Jazz game which wasn't as exciting. Lakers lead the whole game. One brilliant bit of coaching that Phil Jackson did: usually the Lakers put in their bench players in the second quarter and sometimes they do well but usually they struggle to produce points. And because there's no crazy good bench players (excepting Adam Morrison) they tend to be easy to defend.
So what Phil Jackson did this game was leave Kobe on the floor and put four bench players out there with him. So then the Jazz had to double (or triple) team Kobe and Kobe was doing some awesome passing to give the bench players open shots (which they are much better at making than the contested shots they usually get). So Kobe drawing the defensive pressure and basically acting as point guard for the team allowed the bench players to really shine. He tried a similar thing later with Odom and Gasol surrounded by bench players but it wasn't as effective. I hope he does this when they play Phoenix.
